Slide and animation timings: PowerPoint automatically records the time you spend on each slide, including any animation steps that occur, and the use of any triggers on each slide.

Narrations, ink, and laser pointer: Record your voice as you run through your presentation. If you use the pen, highlighter, eraser, or laser pointer, PowerPoint records those for playback as well.

Note:
The pen, highlighter, and the eraser tool are only available for users who have the Feb 16th, 2015 update for PowerPoint 2013 or are using a later PowerPoint version like PowerPoint 2016.
Step 3
When you start recording, you'll see a Recording toolbar at the top left corner of the window. You can go to the next slide with the Arrow icon, pause the recording with the Pause icon, or re-record the current slide with the Reverse Arrow icon.
