Part 1: Record Narration over Your Presentation in PowerPoint

PowerPoint has its own recording feature allowing you to do a recording on your Mac or Windows PC. Here we show you the steps to record a presentation based on office 2013-2019 for Windows. If you are on different versions of PowerPoint, the steps may differ.

Step 1
Open your presentation file and start recording the slides by selecting Slide Show > Record Slide Show, and then you can choose from two options: Record from Current Slide or Record from Beginning.

Note:
The Clear command deletes narrations or timings, so be careful when you use it. Clear is grayed out unless you have previously recorded some slides.
Step 2
Then, you'll see a dialogue box that will allow you to start the recording process. Before you begin recording, you can select what you want to record.

Slide and animation timings: PowerPoint automatically records the time you spend on each slide, including any animation steps that occur, and the use of any triggers on each slide.

Narrations, ink, and laser pointer: Record your voice as you run through your presentation. If you use the pen, highlighter, eraser, or laser pointer, PowerPoint records those for playback as well.

Note:
The pen, highlighter, and the eraser tool are only available for users who have the Feb 16th, 2015 update for PowerPoint 2013 or are using a later PowerPoint version like PowerPoint 2016.
Step 3
When you start recording, you'll see a Recording toolbar at the top left corner of the window. You can go to the next slide with the Arrow icon, pause the recording with the Pause icon, or re-record the current slide with the Reverse Arrow icon.

Step 4
To end your recording anytime, right-click the slide show and select End Show.

Choose audio mode from "Microphone + System audio", "Microphone", "System audio", and "No audio" and hit the Start Recording button.

Step 4
Go to Application Window and select the Powerpoint Presentation interface. Click Share and record.
